Hidden Sugar in Everyday Foods
· 1 min read
Sugar hides in bread, sauces, cereals and 'healthy' snacks. Here's how to spot it.
You may be surprised by how much added sugar hides in foods you eat every day: breakfast cereals, flavoured yoghurts, bread, sauces and so-called 'healthy' snacks.
Manufacturers use many names for sugar: sucrose, glucose, fructose, maltose, honey, agave, corn syrup and more. That is why a single word on the label is so important.
A front of pack warning makes it easy. If the label says the product is high in sugar, you know instantly, with no ingredient list detective work required.
