Myth vs Fact: 'Light', 'Healthy' and 'Natural'
· 1 min read
Marketing words can mislead. Learn what 'light', 'natural' and 'healthy' really tell you.
Words like 'light', 'natural', 'organic' and 'no added sugar' are common on food packaging, but they are marketing claims, not health guarantees.
A product can be 'no added sugar' yet still be very high in salt or saturated fat. It can say 'natural' and still carry a warning label.
The most reliable signal is the front of pack warning itself. It is based on the actual nutrient content, not the marketing language.
